Abstract

This study aims to examine how the optimization of sports facilities at SD Islam Al Mushanifiyah can support the exploration of students' interests and talents at the elementary education level. Adequate sports facilities are believed to provide a space for students to explore and develop their non-academic potential optimally, while also shaping character and instilling Islamic values. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation of sports activities at the school. The results show that the school actively integrates sports into its annual program planning and extracurricular activities. Despite limited resources, SD Islam Al Mushanifiyah makes maximum efforts in managing and utilizing sports facilities. Support from the principal, physical education teachers, parents, and the surrounding community plays a significant role in encouraging student participation. Sports activities not only enhance students' physical skills but also foster discipline, cooperation, self-confidence, and Islamic values such as brotherhood (ukhuwah), honesty, patience, and responsibility. The optimization of these facilities also has a positive impact on students' achievements in competitions and strengthens a holistic learning environment. Thus, well-managed sports facilities become a strategic key in guiding students' interests, talents, and character development from an early age, reflecting the implementation of Islamic education that is integrated and focused on comprehensive potential development.
