Implementation of the Edutainment-Based Method and Its Implications for the SKI Subject at MDTA Assabi’iyah Karawang

Abstract

Creating innovative and engaging learning methods, and being able to maintain students' interest in the classroom, is a huge challenge and priority for teachers around the world. Especially in the subject of Islamic Cultural History (ISH) which is often faced with problems related to narrative, chronological, and historical materials. Therefore, an adaptive and effective learning method is needed, such as the Edutainment method, which can increase student engagement and motivation. This study aims to explore the implementation of Edutainment-based methods and their implications in improving the quality of ISH learning. By using a qualitative approach consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation analysis conducted at MDTA Assabi'iyah Karawang, this study successfully revealed that the implementation of the Edutainment method in ISH learning has very positive implications, including increasing students' grades and enthusiasm during the learning process. In this context, the role of teachers in developing effective entertainment methods and integrating them with ISH learning materials has succeeded in increasing students' interest and involvement in the learning process.
