The Process of Strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile as a Step to Prepare Students for 21st-Century Challenges

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening process of the Pancasila Student Profile as a step in preparing students to face the challenges of the 21st century at SD Islam Terpadu Al-Qudwah. This research focuses on how the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum can help students develop critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity skills (4C), which are the main competencies in the modern era. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from various informants, such as the principal, teachers, and fifth-grade students. Data analysis was performed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the strengthening of the Pancasila Student Profile has been implemented effectively through various learning projects based on 21st-century skills. Teachers act as facilitators who guide students in exploring knowledge and developing character. Supporting factors in this implementation include the availability of adequate school facilities and support from competent educators. However, the challenges faced include limited implementation time and differences in students' understanding levels. The conclusion of this study is that a project-based approach in strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile can enhance students' readiness to face global challenges. It is hoped that the findings of this study can serve as a reference for other schools in implementing the Merdeka curriculum more optimally.
